Aernnova and Mahindra Aerostructures announce a multi-year contract worth $300 million, strengthening their long-standing partnership

Aernnova Aerospace, SAU & Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd (MASPL) have announced a multi-year contract valued at approximately $300 million for MASPL to manufacture metal sub-assemblies and components for a range of Airbus aircraft and also for Embraer aircraft families (including the Embraer C390 Millennium military transport aircraft). The contract covers supply to several Aernnova centres in Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Brazil, further strengthening a collaboration that began in 2013.

In his speech, Ricardo Chocarro, CEO of Aernnova, said: “This partnership with Mahindra will enable Aernnova to strengthen its supply chain to ensure increased production in our factories for all our programmes, thus fulfilling our mission to deliver to our customers. We have great confidence in MASPL’s experience and high-end technological capabilities to industrialise the different packages with the support of our technical experts in the different areas of work.”

Mr Anish Shah, CEO and Managing Director of the Mahindra Group, said:
“We are delighted with the trust that Aernnova has placed in us and we thank them for their support. As we expand our operations and make significant investments in our aerospace business, we look forward to enhancing this partnership and reaching new heights.”

Regarding the alliance, Arvind Mehra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Aerostructures, said: “The partnership with Aernnova has been of great importance to us since the inception of our business, and it is truly an exciting moment to sign this new contract with them. This contract builds heavily on our relationship with their UK subsidiary and also opens up several opportunities for manufacturing in India. Through further investment in capacity, we are delighted to showcase our value proposition in the areas of industrial process maturity, digitalisation, performance and sustainability, and to contribute to our customers’ plans for increased production.”

Aernnova supported MASPL in the early stages of developing its facilities in India, with significant contributions to the design and development of the facilities, as well as training and skills assessment. The relationship moved to a new level when Aernnova acquired an existing MASPL customer, Hamble Aerostructures (UK), from GE in 2020. Aernnova’s new contract evolved through multiple engagements in which both companies explored new opportunities and finalised a collaboration strategy. Both companies intend to leverage this agreement to progressively increase the size of the relationship in the coming years.
