Cookies used for any of the following purposes are exempt from compliance of the obligations established in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on the Information Society and Electronic Commerce Services, hereinafter LSSI:

–   To only permit communication between the user’s equipment and the network.

–   Strictly for the provision of a service expressly requested by the user.

In this respect the Article 29 Working Party in its Ruling 4/2012 (Ruling 4/2012 on exemption from the Cookies consent requirement, http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/article-29/documentation/opinion-recommendation/files/2012/wp194_es.pdf) has determined that the cookies exempted from the requirement are those intended for:

–  «User-input» cookies

–  User identification or authentication cookies (only session cookies)

–  User centric security cookies

–  Multimedia player session cookies

–  Load balancing session cookies

–  User interface customization cookies

–  Social plug-in content sharing cookies

Therefore, it can be understood that these cookies are excluded from the scope of application of article 22.2 of the LSSI, and consequently, it is not necessary to inform the user or obtain their consent with respect to the use.
