AI ecosystem in the Basque Country; the Technology Park joins BAIC as a partner entity
The Basque Country Technology Park has joined the Basque Artificial Intelligence Centre (BAIC), the largest AI ecosystem in the Basque Country, made up of companies, technology centres and public institutions.
The Basque Artificial Intelligence Centre (BAIC) works alongside public and private entities to position the Basque Country as a global leader in AI development and application.
BAIC promotes the development and adoption of AI-based solutions through collaboration with companies, institutions, training entities, intermediary organisations and research centres. It promotes and coordinates an advanced AI ecosystem that improves the competitiveness and well-being of the Basque Country on a daily basis, positioning us as leaders in the digital transformation of the region.
The BAIC ecosystem brings together the main players driving AI in the Basque Country to accelerate digital transformation and position the Basque Country as a benchmark.
To achieve its objectives, it works through the deployment of five main areas of activity which, when combined, enable the construction of comprehensive solutions to the complex challenges posed by AI:
Observatory: Identification of AI agents, situation and trends. Focus on ethical and regulatory aspects.
Positioning: Representation, networking and dissemination.
Talent and capabilities: Promotion, development, retention and attraction of talent in AI. Training the region in AI infrastructure and technological assets.
Applied AI: Ideation, experimentation and acceleration of AI challenges.
Data strategy: Driving initiatives for the development of data sovereignty and the data economy in the Basque Country.
The Basque Country Technology Park’s entry as a BAIC partner means being part of the main AI reference agents in the region that have a significant level of maturity and AI traction capacity. Their knowledge and experience inspire other agents in the ecosystem and guide the Basque Country’s AI strategy.
