Last December, the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park received a visit from eight representatives of the Union of Municipalist Women of the Dominican Republic, UNMUNDO. This is an institution directed at developing leadership skills among women in local management, increasing female representation in decision-making bodies, promoting the participation of women in local public policy debates and, in particular, strengthening local, inclusive and participatory democracy.
The delegation from UNMUNDO, who arrived at the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park in the company of the Director General of Municipal Relations and Town Planning for the Bizkaia Provincial Council, Joseba Escribano, were received by the Director of the Bizkaia Park, Txaber Ouro and the Mayor of Zamudio, Igotz López. Using a model and aerial photographs of the park, Txaber Ouro explained the model of the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park, a model of international reference for other parks and countries.
The eight representatives of UNMUNDO also had the opportunity to visit BTEK, the Technology Interpretation Centre, after which they visited the Azti-Tecnalia technology centre.
