Guided tour of CIC biomaGUNE at the Donostia Campus of the Basque Country Technology Park

Have you ever wondered what a research laboratory looks like inside? Donostia is a city of science and innovation, and the Donostia Campus of the Basque Country Technology Park is one of its main driving forces. However, we often don’t know what really goes on in its centres: what research is being done, who works there, what technology they use?

Now you have the opportunity to find out for yourself.
On 13th and 14th November, the CIC biomaGUNE research centre, located in the heart of the Donostia Campus, is opening its doors with a guided tour of the Molecular and Functional Imaging Unit at 10:00 am at Paseo Miramón 194.

What will you see?
For an hour and a half, you will learn about a leading European facility in the field of preclinical imaging.
You will see how new compounds are studied before they reach human clinical trials, and how chemistry, biology and physics are combined to advance health and biotechnology.

Tour of unique spaces

  • The animal facility, where in vivo studies are conducted.
  • The cyclotron, which generates radioactive isotopes.
  • Reactors that transform these isotopes into molecules or nanoparticles.
  • Tomography, X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging equipment.

Are you concerned about radioactivity? No problem! The visit is completely safe.

Aimed at the general public
