Elkargi and Bankinter, allies to accelerate sustainable financing and the internationalisation of companies

Elkargi and Bankinter have signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement to promote financing for the self-employed and companies.
The new agreement includes a new line of financing to promote energy efficiency projects. It is an innovative financial product called ‘CAE Advance Loan’, which allows companies to have immediate liquidity by anticipating the value of the Energy Saving Certificates (CAE), making it easier for companies backed by Elkargi to finance sustainable investments under preferential conditions.
Additionally, the agreement includes new international business financing lines, such as: documentary credits, import financing and international guarantees at highly competitive prices for SMEs.
Both entities thus reinforce their collaboration to channel resources to support internationalisation and projects with a positive impact on the environment and aligned with ESG principles.
In the words of Zenón Vázquez Irizar, “Elkargi is a financial institution created and owned by companies and self-employed people committed to their environment. With this agreement, we reinforce our support for companies by extending the range of financial solutions available to them, in two key areas for business development and competitiveness: internationalisation and sustainability”.
For Javier Hernández Bermejo, Director of Bankinter’s Northern Organisation, the Bank’s proposal in the corporate business is very varied, especially in its international activity, promoting specific solutions for companies seeking to diversify their activity by entering or strengthening their presence in foreign markets. And he adds: “In sustainable financing, I would like to point out the novelty of our “CAE Advance Loan”, which allows companies to advance the monetisation of their Energy Saving Certificate. In other words, we advance the company the value of its final energy consumption savings, which will generate the CAE”.
With this initiative, Bankinter and Elkargi are seeking to facilitate access to credit to boost the internationalisation of companies and energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, circular economy and decarbonisation projects, among others. The aim is to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable and competitive business models.
