Advanced professional services companies offer knowledge-intensive services and specialist consultancy in areas such as policy design, competitiveness, sustainability, management models, innovation and technology, legislation, finance, engineering, architecture, ICTs or transfer of operations, with a high methodological and technological level.

Basque Country Expertise, a programme run by the SPRI Group, contributes to boosting the business of the advanced professional services companies abroad.

This sector has a 1,748 million euro turnover in the Basque Country, generates 15,067 jobs and represents 2.6% of the Basque GDP.

This morning, the official presentation took place for the Espa Network (Espa is the Spanish acronym of Advanced professional services companies). The network is an initiative of the Basque Innovation Agency Innobasque, and it was created with the aim of internationalising these Basque firms. The Espa Network enhances the knowledge built up as part of the successful projects resulting from its intervention in the Basque Country’s social and economic transformation, such as the creation of EVE (the Basque Energy Board), the Osakidetza (Basque Health Service), Metro Bilbao, the Basque cooperative movement, the “clustering” of the Basque business fabric, business diversification or the acclaimed transformation of Bilbao. These companies work in collaboration, forming a network that provides them with sufficient dimension to guarantee their international expansion process. Advanced professional services companies offer knowledge-intensive services and specialist consultancy in areas such as policy design, competitiveness, sustainability, management models, innovation and technology, legislation, finance, engineering, architecture, ICTs or transfer of operations, with a high methodological and technological level.
