The partnership consolidates a collaborative relationship spanning nearly 20 years

The IDEKO technology centre has announced its agreement with ITP Aero, a world leader in aerospace propulsion, to promote R&D in the sector. Rafael Lizarralde, Managing Director of IDEKO, and Jaime Fernández Castañeda, Senior Director of Research & Technology at ITP Aero, signed the agreement.

The new agreement consolidates a relationship spanning almost 20 years, which has evolved into a research alliance in key technological areas for advanced aeronautical manufacturing.

Both entities will collaborate to promote applied research, technology transfer and joint training in the field of manufacturing in the aerospace sector. One of the keys will be the development and implementation of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence applied to manufacturing, intelligent process monitoring, simulation and data analytics. The aim is to turn these technologies into real industrial solutions that improve the efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.

‘Trust between the teams has grown over the years and this agreement consolidates our position as ITP Aero’s R&D partner. We are motivated to jointly address the sector’s technological challenges in the medium and long term,’ said IDEKO’s Managing Director.

‘At ITP Aero, we are firmly committed to innovation. Collaboration with technology centres such as IDEKO, with whom we have been working for 20 years, is key to continuing to advance the development of technologies that drive efficiency and sustainability in the aerospace sector,’ said Jaime Fernández Castañeda, Senior Director of Research & Technology at ITP Aero.

In this shared journey, the Centre for Advanced Aeronautical Manufacturing (CFAA), created in 2015, plays a key role as an environment for research, knowledge generation, talent attraction, experimentation, validation and industrial scaling. The space has established itself as a reflection of the joint commitment of both entities to a more sustainable, digital and competitive aerospace industry.
