Nuria Gisbert, General Director of CIC energiGUNE, recognised with the “WITH Women Leaders 2024” Award
The network of women that promotes female talent in senior management has valued the professional career of Nuria Gisbert at the head of the Basque research centre and her contribution to the consolidation of “a new model of leadership, more diverse, more human and more connected”.
At the award ceremony, the General Director of CIC energiGUNE thanked the award and highlighted the work of the WITH network to promote the incorporation of female talent into senior business management.
Nuria Gisbert, General Director of CIC energiGUNE, a leading Basque research centre in electrochemical and thermal energy storage and conversion, and hydrogen technologies, has been awarded the “Women Leaders 2024” prize by WITH, the network of female managers and executives that promotes female talent in senior management. The awards ceremony took place last night at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and was attended by more than 300 people, 150 of whom were female managers and senior executives from all over Spain.
“It is an honour to receive recognition from other women who know, share and demonstrate every day the capacity of female talent to lead business projects”, said Nuria Gisbert on receiving the award. “Initiatives such as the WITH network are fundamental, not only to create an ecosystem that brings together women leaders, but also to inspire young women, which is what guarantees the consolidation of this new leadership model”, she concluded.
The heads of the WITH network, which this year held the second edition of the “Women Leaders” awards, particularly valued the professional career of Nuria Gisbert at the head of CIC energiGUNE, which has become an international benchmark in the field of energy storage. All of this also stands out for maintaining a situation of parity between men and women in the composition of its staff, thanks to a model based on equal opportunities and the development of transversal competences, promoting mentoring and coaching as key tools to consolidate this organisational culture.
In this sense, WITH has wanted to value that “the presence of Nuria Gisbert at the gala, along with that of so many other women leaders, will be an inspiration and a stimulus for all the people present”.
With a PhD in Business Management and Industrial Engineering, Nuria Gisbert has more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Before becoming General Manager of CIC energiGUNE, she was General Manager of CIC microGUNE, where she arrived after holding several positions of responsibility in the private sector in the energy area. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Innobasque, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Basque Council for Science, Technology and Innovation. She has also played a key role in the creation of the two CIC energiGUNE spinoffs: Bcare and Basquevolt.
The II Gala “Women Leaders WITH” brought together women from different professional sectors, from different generations and with transversal profiles, who came to Bilbao from all the autonomous communities. The Gala is part of the New Leadership Models Week, a collective celebration based in Bilbao in which to reflect on leadership in the business world and beyond. The WITH Network, which is based in Bilbao, has more than 125 female executives and managers from global companies and corporations, such as the United Nations, 3M, Bupa, Repsol, Zscaler, Merz Aesthetics, Telefónica, WIZink or ABB, among others. WITH aspires to become the largest ecosystem of women leaders and executives in Europe and Latin America that, through mutual support and connection, promotes a more diverse and connected world.
