Parkea Musik Fest returns to raise the festive temperature at Campus Donostia

BeParke, Gipuzkoa, News

With summer temperatures and a desire to have fun, more than 300 people gathered on Thursday, 18 September, on the fields next to the central building of the Donostia Campus to celebrate a new edition of the Parkea Musik Fest, featuring musical performances by Rubén Sáez from Uno Minda, Noé Ortega from Deneb Medical, and Rebeca Azpiri from Cidetec

Excitement and a great atmosphere. These are the two main feelings highlighted by the three employees of companies based at the Basque Country Technology Park who took to the stage on Thursday at the Parkea Musik Fest. Rubén Sáez from Uno Minda, Noé Ortega from Deneb Medical, and Rebeca Azpiri from Cidetec, together with their respective musical acts, ensured that this BeParke initiative was once again the perfect excuse to spend a perfect afternoon, sharing a relaxing moment with colleagues after work at the Donostia Campus.

‘I was really excited to play music in front of the company’s employees,’ said Rebeca Azpiri as soon as she stepped off the stage. She is known in the music world as DJ ‘OM Lila,’ but professionally she works as a researcher on lithium-ion batteries at Cidetec, a leading applied research centre in energy storage, nanomedicine, and surface engineering.

For Noé Ortega, member of the band ‘Lurrin’, the experience did not come as a surprise. ‘I have been coming to this festival for several years as a spectator, and I think it’s a fantastic venue,’ he said. Noé is the director of the engineering department at Deneb Medical, where he has been working for more than nine years at this start-up company specialising in the development of disruptive medical solutions.

For their part, Rubén Sáez and his band ‘Alerta Petrov’ also saw their participation in Parkea Musik Fest as the beginning of a new phase for a group that is just starting out. Rubén Sáez is the R&D director at Uno Minda (Light & Systems Technical Centre – Rinder), where he has been working for nearly 20 years.

BeParke raffles, prizes and surprises

In addition to the musical performances, those attending the event had the opportunity to enjoy a meeting space and the chance to win various prizes. VIP tickets for Real Sociedad matches, spa and brunch experiences, double passes for festivals such as BBK Live and Azkena Rock, and tickets for the Aquarium or the Donostia Fantastic Film Festival were raffled off.

The results of the cake competition organised for the occasion were also announced. The prize went to Iker Castrillo, who won over the jury with the ‘great flavour’ of his culinary creation. The five cakes entered – including one gluten-free cake for coeliacs – were distributed among all those present.

Finally, Héctor Calderón, Director of Cooperation and Services at the Basque Country Technology Park, took the opportunity to announce an important new development in the BeParke Kluba offering, which includes the Parkea Musik Fest initiative. A Business League will soon be launched in different sports fields, in which all individuals and companies associated with BeParke Kluba will be able to participate. Details will be announced shortly.
