Sarenet accelerates the development of data spaces and sustainability with DESPACE and HUCAÍN
The new platforms facilitate secure data collaboration for companies in any sector and prepare the industry for the European Digital Product Passport regulation.
Sarenet has taken another step forward in its commitment to technological innovation and digital sovereignty with the launch of two new solutions: DESPACE and HUCAÍN. Both tools respond to two of the major challenges facing today’s economy—the secure and responsible use of data and environmental sustainability—and are specifically aimed at SMEs seeking to advance their digital transformation.
DESPACE: building secure and accessible data spaces
DESPACE is a visual platform that facilitates the creation, connection and management of shared data spaces between organisations. Its aim is to enable companies from different sectors to exchange information in a secure, controlled and traceable manner, promoting collaboration and the generation of value from data.
The solution is based on a microservices architecture deployed on Sarenet’s cloud infrastructure, based on containers orchestrated by Kubernetes. This design provides scalability, resilience and ease of integration with other business systems. In addition, the platform is compatible with European models of interoperability and data sovereignty, such as those promoted by GAIA-X, IDSA and the Data Spaces Support Centre, ensuring its alignment with EU standards for digital trust and secure information sharing.
HUCAÍN: measuring and reducing carbon footprint
HUCAÍN is an open and scalable industrial data space designed to automate the measurement of carbon footprints in the production chain and facilitate access to the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a requirement that will be mandatory in the EU in the coming years. The platform allows data from various sources, such as IoT sensors or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, to be integrated, automatically processes it using European standards such as FIWARE and Smart Data Models, and calculates the carbon footprint per product and process. In this way, it simplifies a procedure that is currently complex, manual and difficult to audit, ensuring the traceability and reliability of environmental information.
Designed especially for the machine tool and materials processing sectors, HUCAÍN enables companies to anticipate European regulations, improve their efficiency and competitiveness, and strengthen their commitment to sustainability. The system functions as a secure industrial data space, facilitating collaboration between companies without them losing control over their information. With an open and scalable model, HUCAÍN is positioned as a key tool for promoting a more digital, transparent and sustainable industry.
