This powerful infrastructure guarantees robust contingency plans in the event of critical events such as pandemics, power outages or natural disasters

The company, with a growing national presence, generated 30% of its 28 million turnover in 2024 through its network of partners

The aim is to consolidate its position as a key ally for SMEs to comply with regulations such as NIS2 or the National Security Scheme through accessible, secure and efficient solutions

Sarenet (https://www.sarenet.es), the voice and data operator and hosting services provider for businesses, has announced the imminent launch of a new Data Centre (DC) at the Derio Communications Hub, the result of a €20 million investment, which coincides with the celebration of its 30th anniversary. This state-of-the-art infrastructure, which is at an advanced stage of implementation, reinforces the company’s firm commitment to cybersecurity, sustainability, artificial intelligence and the growth of SMEs.

The new DC responds to the real needs of the local and national business community. With a capacity of 3 MW, it has been designed to scale flexibly, ensure business continuity and host everything from critical business applications to advanced artificial intelligence services, managed cybersecurity and data spaces.

Infrastructure at the service of innovation and sustainability

The project has been designed to the most demanding standards of energy efficiency and sustainability, and will only consume 100% green energy. It includes its own photovoltaic installation and is built to obtain LEED Gold certification. In addition, Sarenet is part of the ‘Pact for Climate Neutrality in Data Centres’ (CNDCP), which reinforces its commitment to the environment.

This infrastructure allows Sarenet to maintain total control over its customers’ data, minimising outsourcing and ensuring that information never leaves the company’s management perimeter. This philosophy of “data sovereignty” and proximity is essential for SMEs, which are increasingly in need of local, secure solutions adapted to the new digital context.

The new DC will also facilitate the deployment of more advanced solutions such as dynamic network segmentation and protection against DDoS attacks. In addition, it will enable the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions aimed at SMEs, with a secure and confidential approach, thus reinforcing the protection of sensitive data. All of this contributes to ensuring robust contingency plans in the event of critical events such as pandemics, power outages or natural disasters.

National presence, sustained growth and investment in R&D&I

Sarenet, which currently has a workforce of 130 professionals, achieved revenues of €28 million in 2024, a 6% increase over the previous year, and EBITDA of €3.15 million. Last year, 30% of revenues were channelled through its network of partners, which now totals 400 collaborators. This indirect sales model is growing at the same pace as the company and highlights its increasingly significant presence at the national level.

Investment in R&D&I continues to grow: €1.3 million in 2024 and €1.8 million planned for 2025, representing 6% of its turnover. Sarenet’s commitment to innovation through a solid commitment to R&D&I is evident in projects that address key challenges for SMEs. These include solutions for carbon footprint traceability (Hucain), the deployment of data spaces (Despace), secure information sharing in supply chains (Bindata) and an intelligent assistant for customer service centres based on generative artificial intelligence. In addition, it develops initiatives such as SAREAN, Artza-IA and SOSRAEE, focused on cybersecurity, autonomous grazing and the circular economy, with a combined investment of more than €1.3 million over the past year.

30 years offering services for the digitalisation of SMEs

In its 30 years of activity, Sarenet has consolidated a comprehensive catalogue of services covering connectivity, data hosting, cloud services, voice solutions, network and systems engineering, and cybersecurity. Since 2023, the company has offered a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) service, and in 2024 it integrated artificial intelligence into both its protection services and technical customer support.
