With the aim of filtering content and controlling network access time, the main concerns of parents in terms of network usage, the telecommunications operator offers its connectivity solutions and a web-based control panel that allows them to monitor the operation of the network.

Sarenet (https://www.sarenet.es), a voice, data and hosting services operator specialising in companies, has signed a collaboration agreement with Gatchan (https://gatchan.es), a telecommunications company aimed at educational environments, both schools and clubs, sports centres, libraries and any other place, including the home, where the end user of the Internet connection is a minor.
Among the services offered by the company are those related to the online security of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), which allow encryption of activity and filtering of browsing content, with simple control tools that manage permissions and access time to applications and the Internet from a single place.
To be able to offer these services, the company relies on Sarenet, which provides its connectivity solutions and a web control panel that gives it the autonomy to supervise its customers’ fibre coverage, even allowing the processing of fibre line registrations. Customers can, in turn, be provided with activity statistics for transparent use of applications and threats in customised configurations. The service includes logging, firewall, installation and professional support.
For Jaume Clotet, founding partner of Gatchan, his company “was born out of the concern of families and parents about the use that children make of mobile phones, the Internet, video games and technology in general”. The search for quality solutions to be able to offer a good service led the company to choose Sarenet. “We share the same philosophy of prioritising quality and we are aware that schools, as data and connectivity providers, have an obligation to ensure the proper use of networks by children. Sarenet is the right partner because of its proximity, experience and technological capacity. There are not many business telecommunications companies in Spain that have managed to build such a solid project in 25 years,” concludes Clotet.
The two companies also work closely together on more complex projects, such as mobile telephony, virtual switchboards or wifi networks, developing joint solutions that are best suited to the specific needs of each client.
Orenci Garcés, Sarenet’s sales director in Catalonia, says that their collaboration with Gatchan creates a good complementarity. “Their business focuses on a very robust content filtering solution for minors, and we offer our services so that they have the best connectivity and can carry out these filtering processes with the highest quality.
The solutions that are best received in the channel are those related to connectivity and telephony, both mobile telephony and virtual switchboard, Garcés points out. “In any case, lately we are experiencing a notable increase in demand for cybersecurity solutions and also from developers who ask us for Datacenter services, whether they are cloud servers or housing hosting,” Garcés points out.
