Science and Technology for Women returns to 21 science and technology parks of APTE in a new edition with Inspiring Girls
The 7th edition of the initiative Science and Technology for Women, which seeks to inspire scientific and technological vocations among the young female public promoted by the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) will return on 12 November with an online session with the participation of Marta Pérez Dorao, president of Inspiring Girls, and in which an alliance between the two organisations will be presented.
A total of 21 science and technology parks members of APTE will actively participate in this new edition of the project.
As in the previous edition, the programme will run until the end of February 2025 and will consist of visits to the collaborating parks, practical workshops and a tour of the exhibitions: ‘Women who changed the world’ -composed of 35 women who have marked the history of science and technology-, and “Women who change the world” -which already has 241 professionals from the environment of the collaborating parks in the project-, participation in a national competition on challenges focused on the SDGs and the delivery of illustrated guides with examples of career opportunities in STEAM studies: ’What do I want to be when I grow up? ‘and ‘What are disruptive technologies’.
During the conference, there will also be presentations given by women who work in the participating parks or their environment, and who are dedicated to the field of science and technology.
In addition, the programme celebrates two new collaborations: one with Hitachi Rail, one of the world’s leading railway manufacturers, which will sponsor the closing ceremony of the project and the prizes of the ODS competition, and the other with KeepCoding, an institution dedicated to technological training, which will offer the winning group of the competition a programming course from its training catalogue.
All the details of the initiative, as well as the programmes of the conferences that will take place in the different science and technology parks, will be updated on the project’s website and on its social media profiles.
