Technological alliance to promote precision industrial metrology in the Basque Country
The German company ZEISS and the technology centre Tekniker have inaugurated the ZEISS Quality Excellence Center. Located in Tekniker’s Metrology Lab, it will offer advanced measurement, calibration and quality control services to drive zero-defect production.
The German company ZEISS, leader in multidimensional metrology solutions, and the Tekniker technology centre, a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), have presented the ZEISS Quality Excellence Center (QEC), a new space that will offer the industrial fabric advanced services in measurement, calibration, advice on technology and quality control of production systems.
The inauguration ceremony took place in Tekniker’s dimensional metrology laboratory, where the measurement technologies will be located, and was attended, among others, by Anita Sonnenfroh, Director of ZEISS Iberia; Juven Mollá, Director of IQS Iberia; Jon Mabe, Market Director of Tekniker; and Gorka Kortaberria, Director of Industrial Metrology at Tekniker. During the event, the capabilities of the new space and the equipment that will meet the most demanding needs of sectors such as automotive and aeronautics were presented.
‘We have integrated in Tekniker our latest metrology technology, including our most advanced equipment, to ensure maximum accuracy and reliability in industrial processes. We will combine our measurement expertise with Tekniker’s technological specialisation to ensure that every stage of the process meets the highest quality standards,’ said Juven Mollá of ZEISS.
The new space focused on the science of industrial measurement features four state-of-the-art ZEISS instruments that integrate different capabilities and techniques to perform complex measurements on free geometries, special materials and high-precision parts. In addition, training will be promoted between the two parties and to third parties to ensure the correct application of the technologies and to obtain maximum performance.
‘This collaboration gives us access to ZEISS equipment and technologies so that we can expand our capabilities and develop and research more complete solutions for industrial measurement,’ said Gorka Kortaberria of Tekniker.
The space thus reinforces the shared commitment of ZEISS and Tekniker to technological innovation and continuous improvement, driving more accurate production processes and promoting the transition to zero-defect manufacturing.
