TECNALIA promotes the application of generative AI in cardiology and medicine

The TECNALIA technology research centre, the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) and the IMAS Foundation have signed a framework agreement to promote the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence in cardiology and medicine.
The agreement seeks to promote innovation in cardiovascular health through the use of predictive models, data ecosystems and digital twins of the heart, tools that will improve clinical outcomes, optimise the work of healthcare professionals and advance towards more personalised and efficient medicine.
This alliance focuses on harnessing the potential of secondary use of health data to accelerate research and knowledge transfer, as well as integrating artificial intelligence into clinical practice and specialised training.
According to Javier González Lodoso, Director of the Health Market at TECNALIA, the initiative reinforces the value of open innovation and collaboration between technology and medicine. For his part, Luis Rodríguez Padial, President of the SEC, stresses that the agreement represents ‘a decisive step towards the transformation of cardiology through generative AI’. Finally, Ignacio Ayerdi, from the IMAS Foundation, highlights that this technology will enable ‘more precise, personalised and humane medicine’.
With this collaboration, TECNALIA, IMAS and the SEC are positioning themselves as leaders in the digital transformation of the healthcare system and in the application of artificial intelligence to cardiovascular health.
