The Bilbao City Council, through Invest In Bilbao, will be present for the third consecutive time at The District fair in Barcelona on the 25th, 26th and 27th September, sharing stand and presentations for the first time with the Euskadi Technology Park.

Bilbao will present its urban development projects to investment companies and international references in the European real estate sector, with special emphasis on the potential of Zorrotzaurre where the Euskadi Technology Park will develop the Campus Bilbao.

The City has been nominated as the best destination for real estate investment as an example of urban regeneration.

The Bilbao City Council, through Invest in Bilbao, will participate in the third edition of the international reference meeting for the real estate sector, The District, to be held on the 25th, 26th and 27th September in the Gran Vía exhibition centre of the Fira de Barcelona.

During the event, some of the most important urban development projects in Bilbao will be presented to investors and international references in the European real estate sector, with special emphasis on the potential of Zorrotzaurre.

The main novelty this year will be the presence of the Euskadi Technology Park, which will attend The District accompanying the Bilbao City Council and forming a joint stand. The Technology Park is a strategic partner and its presence is especially interesting when it comes to publicising and promoting the project to set up the urban technology campus at the northern and southern points of Zorrotzaurre; a fundamental initiative that will allow the creation and promotion of new economic activities focused on high added value sectors such as artificial intelligence, data management and renewable energies, amongst others.

The implementation of the Technology Park in Zorrotzaurre will mean the creation of the Bilbao Campus, which will join the 6 active campuses that the Technology Park currently has in the Basque Autonomous Community.

Bilbao will have an exhibition area where the most innovative value proposals of the city will be presented, reaffirming the commitment to deepen the dialogue on urban development, public-private cooperation and attract potential investment, following in the footsteps of large cities.

Furthermore, as an example of urban regeneration, Bilbao will compete to be awarded as the best destination for investment in the awards that NEBEXT, organiser of The District event, grants every year.

In addition, several Basque companies from the real estate sector will attend the event, also sharing space with Invest in Bilbao, with the aim of gaining visibility and showcasing Bilbao’s great potential to all those attending the event.

MORE THAN 12,000 PROFESSIONALS

The District fair has established itself as one of the largest professional events in the real estate sector in Europe. In addition to bringing together thousands of international leaders in the field, it deals with the main investment trends, defines the future strategies that are leading the current transformation of cities and districts on an international level, and allows high-value urban development projects to be presented to investors from all over the world.

This third edition will analyse the situation of the sector from the perspective of the capital and investment markets, including developers, real estate managers and sovereign wealth and investment funds. More than 12,000 professionals, 400 managers and around 300 exhibiting firms are expected to attend, with the presence of key companies in the sector.

A quarter of the professionals attending the fair will come from the world of investment and capital funds, for whom the organisers will also offer spaces for bilateral meetings. An opportunity not only to obtain financing, but also to consolidate Bilbao as a centre of maximum reference in the global real estate sector.
