The Donostia Campus to host the National Congress on Advanced and Digital Manufacturing

More than 100 presentations in 3 days that will make up a triple informative, scientific and safety programme specially designed for advanced industry.

A meeting where professionals from the most important companies in the advanced and digital manufacturing sector will collaborate.

The 23rd edition of the Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Tool Congress will be held at the Donostia Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park from 25 to 27 October 2023.

The first technological congress in the country, which held its first edition in 1976, has become a benchmark event in the field of advanced and digital manufacturing. In addition to the cutting-edge scientific and technical perspective that has characterised the congress since its beginnings, it has added a global vision of issues such as disruptive technologies in advanced manufacturing, the factory of the future, robotics and automation, additive manufacturing, attracting and managing talent for manufacturing, the safety of people and machines in smart industry, the challenges facing the main industrial sectors and sustainability.

In addition, this year, as a novelty, during the congress on advanced and digital manufacturing, a congress on machine safety will be held in parallel, where the latest developments in this field will be presented. During the 23CMH, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy product exhibitions and the promotion of services related to advanced manufacturing and machine tools. Along with round tables, debates and presentations, B2B meetings will also be organised to encourage networking and create new opportunities for collaboration between participants.

This year we will be attended by such important companies as Microsoft, Telefónica, Cipherbit, Siemens, IBM, Renishaw, Aernnova, Gestamp, Petronor, Renfe, Fagor Automation, Tecnalia, Danobatgroup and Airbus, among many others. In addition, there will be speakers who are experts in the main fields of innovation in disruptive technologies, digitalisation, sustainability and talent management.

The opening session on the 25th, which will be chaired by the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, will be attended by the prestigious journalist and communicator Iñaki Gabilondo and the renowned scientist Pedro Miguel Etxenike, with a conversation about the challenges that technological advances pose and will pose to the society of the future.

During the closing ceremony of the congress, which will take place on 27 October, four prizes will be awarded: one for the best paper presented by a company, another for the best communication presented by the scientific-technical community, the third for the best end-of-degree project from a technical school and the fourth for the best paper presented in Basque.

At the last edition held in October 2019, the meeting attracted 460 attendees and more than 100 papers were presented. With regard to the participating companies, some outstanding brands from past editions are Berger Group, Siemens, ISG Virtous, HP, GF Precicast Additive, Danobatgroup, Loire Gestamp, CAF, Gonvarri or Valeo; likewise, some outstanding speakers were Francisco Riberas, Alex Rovira, Luis Montero, Tomas Hahn, or Terry Wohlers, among others.
