The logistics and mobility sector of the Basque Country is promoted in Colombia, Portugal and Barcelona
Last week, the Cluster visited Colombia as part of the mission promoted by Basque Trade, which it completed with its own agenda of visits to local contacts.
This week, it is exhibiting its capabilities at the largest European congress on mobility technologies, together with Asimob, Ceit, Tecnalia and the provincial councils of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
In June, it will represent the sector as a co-exhibitor at the Basque Government stand and will participate with it in a round table at SIL, where it will present the logistical strengths of the Basque Country, which is attending the fair as a Guest Community.
In recent weeks, the Cluster’s foreign promotion activity has intensified with its participation in different events that have allowed it to strengthen its relationship and extend its contacts with other agents and companies in Colombia and Portugal. Likewise, from 7 to 9 June, the Cluster will participate in the International Logistics Exhibition, together with the Basque Government, in a stand from which they will promote the capabilities of the companies that develop their activity in the field of mobility of people and goods and the enabling technologies for intelligent and sustainable solutions. Their participation will be completed with a speech in which they will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, Idoia Mendía, and the Regional Minister, Iñaki Arriola, and in which, as representatives of the Basque Country, the guest Community at the Exhibition, they will highlight the industrial and geostrategic strengths of the territory.
Visit to ColombiaBasque Trade & Investment -Basque Internationalisation Agency- and other groups participating in the ProSME project promoted this mission, the aim of which was to encourage the participation of Basque companies in tenders. The Cluster participated in it and combined the official agenda with meetings with its network of contacts in the country. Visits were made to Transmilenio – Bogotá’s transport operator – and to the city’s Secretariat of Mobility, with whom opportunities are opened up for the implementation of projects. In addition, the Transport and Logistics Cluster and the ICT Cluster were visited. The meetings were completed with various business contacts, with tendering entities and by strengthening relations with the Simus Network, with which the Cluster has been collaborating for years.
Stand at ITS EuropeOn the other hand, from 22 to 24 May, the Cluster promoted a stand at the ITS Europe Congress, the most important event in the intelligent transport technologies and innovation sector, which this year was held in Lisbon (Portugal). In addition to representing Basque companies in the sector at the event, the connected corridors of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, promoted by both provincial councils with the participation of the Ceit and Tecnalia technology centres, were presented. The stand was completed by the company Asimob, a specialist in artificial vision solutions applied to road supervision.
Representatives of the Basque logistics company at SILThe Cluster’s promotional activity will be completed in the coming weeks with its participation in the International Logistics Exhibition. It will attend this event together with the Basque Government, representing the Basque industrial fabric of mobility and logistics. The Cluster will be part of the stand of the Basque Country, the Autonomous Community invited to the event. In addition, for the same reason, it will take part in the round table in which its manager, Fernando Zubillaga, will join the interventions of the Deputy Prime Minister, Idoia Mendía, and the Regional Minister for Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport, Iñaki Arriola.
