The logistics clusters of Aragon and the Basque Country sign a strategic agreement to accelerate mobility through cooperation in both territories
The agreement was signed to coincide with European Logistics Day
Both clusters will focus their joint work on mobility actions through innovation, training, consultancy, employment and networking
Coinciding with the European Logistics Day, the Innovative Logistics Association of Aragon and the Mobility and Logistics Cluster of Euskadi have signed today a strategic collaboration agreement whose objective is to promote mobility by establishing synergies between both clusters and their associates to promote their competitiveness. The manager of Alia, Ángel Gil, and the manager of the Mobility and Logistics Cluster, Fernando Zubillaga, have been in charge of formalising an agreement in which, in addition, they are committed to working together for sustainable mobility.
Based on the premises of cooperation, competitive improvement and sustainability, both clusters will focus their joint work in five key areas to boost mobility: promotion and development of joint innovation projects; support in logistics training proposals; support in logistics consultancy; promotion of employability; and promotion of dissemination and networking initiatives among their associates.
“The Mobility and Logistics Cluster of the Basque Country is the reference organisation in the Basque Country for companies and professionals in the sector. Its mission is to promote the development and strengthening of its members by promoting, among others, innovation and cooperation. Aragon is a territory with strong links to the Basque Country, which has traditionally served as a maritime outlet”, explains Fernando Zubillaga. He adds: “The signing of this agreement is a further step in strengthening this link that we now want to reinforce with innovation as a way to promote an intelligent and technologically advanced logistics corridor”.
“The Aragon Logistics Cluster, since its inception in 2010, has become a benchmark in the sector, especially in recent years, as it has tripled the number of members, reaching the current 130” explains Ángel Gil. He adds: “The signing of this agreement, following in the wake of European policies, strengthens the commitment of both entities to mobility, decarbonisation and the reduction of the carbon footprint”.
