The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) has announced the launch of ‘APTE Innovation Spaces’, a new initiative designed to make visible and promote the capabilities and opportunities offered by the innovation spaces located in the association’s member parks.

This project, which involves the participation of 16 science and technology parks in 10 autonomous communities, aims to promote scientific and technological development in the country by publicising 39 key innovation infrastructures that are at the forefront of progress in Spain.

The initiative revolves around a series of guided tours that will take place on 7 and 8 November, during which the parks will open their doors to show a total of 39 innovative spaces. These days will allow researchers, companies, civil society and public administrations to get first-hand knowledge of the Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS) and other centres dedicated to innovation that promote experimentation and technological development.

The initiative is presented as a platform to strengthen the Spanish innovation ecosystem through the visibility of critical infrastructures. The specific objectives of the project are:

To raise awareness of ICTS, innovation infrastructures and living labs located in the parks, highlighting their essential role in the development of innovative projects.
To foster collaboration between the actors of the Quadruple Helix, integrating researchers, companies, civil society and public administrations in an environment of knowledge exchange and synergies.
Show the advantages of living labs, highlighting their capacity as spaces for experimentation and co-creation where new technologies and innovative solutions are tested.
To boost scientific and technological development, positioning Spain as a benchmark in research and development through the promotion of infrastructures dedicated to innovation.
To contribute to scientific progress in Spain, facilitating access to facilities and technologies that support research and innovation.
‘APTE Innovation Spaces’ represents a unique opportunity to showcase the capabilities of science and technology parks as engines of development. By opening its facilities to the public, this initiative seeks to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Spain and promote collaboration between the main actors in the sector. Science and technology parks are key to fostering economic growth based on science and technology, and this initiative reaffirms their importance in the country’s innovation strategy.
