AESA certifies a second B737 simulator manufactured by Lasa Dynamics
The Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA) has recently certified a B737 flight simulator as an FNPT II MCC, manufactured by Lasa Dynamics for the Burgos-based pilot training school FlyBy and installed at the University of León’s Air Simulation Centre.
This is the second Lasa Dynamics unit to be certified by AESA in less than a year. The simulator is marketed by the company under the name Gen738. The first unit is currently in operation at Top Aviator in Puerto Banús, Marbella. This second certification marks a significant milestone for the young Basque start-up, which is based at the Álava Business and Innovation Centre, just a few kilometres from Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Founded in 2023, Lasa Dynamics specialises in flight simulation and aeronautical training solutions. The company designs and manufactures FNPT II MCC and FTD flight simulators, while also providing complementary technical consultancy, certification and operational support services. The Lasa Dynamics team manages the entire product lifecycle, from mechanical design and software development through to integration, testing, certification and final operations. This enables the company to deliver tailor-made solutions to pilot training centres, academies and universities offering aeronautical programmes, both in Spain and internationally.
The B737 simulator certified in León
The Gen738 is an FNPT II MCC simulator based on the B737-800, certified in accordance with EASA CS-FSTD(A) regulations. It is therefore a training device featuring a highly realistic cockpit and complete instrumentation, designed for advanced pilot training, particularly for Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and ASP (Airline Pilot Standards) MCC programmes.
The device offers an exact replica of the aircraft, including a fully functional simulation of the Flight Management System (FMS) and all onboard aircraft systems. It also stands out for its highly realistic visual environments, featuring photometric runway lighting. This is made possible through LightPath, proprietary software developed exclusively by Lasa Dynamics.
This new simulator exceeds the requirements of the certification standard, as explained by Oier Fernández, Head of Training at FlyBy:
“Our new Gen738 has proven to be a reliable and exceptionally well-built training device. Its level of fidelity is well above the minimum certification requirements.”
According to José Ramón Lasa, CEO of Lasa Dynamics:
“This second AESA certification in León, achieved in less than a year, demonstrates our ability to deliver, certify and bring a high-quality product into operation within the established timeframe.”
