Agreement opens new avenues for cooperation with Taiwanese technology centre to bring CIDETEC’s patented 3R technology into the bicycle market

CIDETEC Surface Engineering has signed a collaboration agreement with the Plastics Industry Development Center (PIDC), a leading technology centre in Taiwan, with the aim of exploring new opportunities for technological cooperation and enhancing the visibility of its capabilities in the Taiwanese market.

The agreement marks a further step in the relationship between the two organisations, which began exploring potential areas of collaboration following the visit of a PIDC delegation to CIDETEC in early September. During that meeting, Hsiu-cheng Chang and Chi-Che Tung met with Javier Goñi, Energy Business Development Manager at CIDETEC Surface Engineering, to exchange knowledge and identify opportunities in the fields of surface engineering and advanced materials.

The collaboration focuses on the application of CIDETEC’s patented 3R technology to the bicycle sector. The technology is based on three key principles: reprocessable, recyclable and repairable. This approach enables the development of materials and products that can be reprocessed, recovered through recycling and repaired, helping to extend component lifespans and promote more circular industrial models.

Beyond this specific application, the agreement strengthens the international dimension of CIDETEC Surface Engineering and establishes a collaborative framework with a Taiwanese technology partner to identify new opportunities for the transfer and industrial application of its technologies.

Through this initiative, CIDETEC continues to foster cooperation with international technology organisations as a means of bringing its developments to new markets and addressing the sustainability challenges faced by a wide range of industrial sectors.
