SPRI (the Society for Competitive Transformation), which belongs to the Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism, is currently bringing together its entire external network at three meetings, to give Basque companies the chance to hold individual meetings with SPRI’s office managers and consultants abroad. The meetings conclude on 14 March. This commercial action organised by the SPRI Network forms part of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism’s internationalisation promotion strategy, as included in the Competitiveness Plan for 2010-2013. SPRI has recently updated the corporate image of its offices abroad to include the words “Oficina Empresarial del País Vasco – SPRI (Basque Country Business Office)”. SPRI’s corporate offices and its consultants play a key role in the internationalisation strategy, as they are currently present in 62 countries and last year alone performed almost 1,700 support actions for Basque companies and carried out 422 projects on 59 different markets.

To make it easier for the companies to attend the meetings, they will be held in the Basque Country’s three main cities, more specifically at SPRI’s central offices in Bilbao and at San Sebastián and Álava Technology Parks.

Some of the internationalisation support services that SPRI offers Basque companies through its network abroad are as follows:

  • Information and analysis of target markets.
  • Market introduction.
  • Help with business and production establishment abroad.
  • Temporary relocation at the SPRI business centre.
  • Organisation of individual market research trips.
  • Paperwork assistance.
  • Contact with local authorities and administrations.
  • Access to financial aid.
