ITP Aero wins Platinum Medal in EcoVadis 2024 sustainability rating
This medal places ITP Aero in the top 1% of companies rated by EcoVadis this year.
ITP Aero has obtained the Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, a global leader in the evaluation of corporate sustainability. This recognition places ITP Aero in the top 1% of the world’s most sustainable companies assessed by EcoVadis in 2024. EcoVadis is recognised as the most reliable standard for rating corporate sustainability and is the benchmark tool in the aerospace sector according to the International Aerospace Environment Group (IAEG).
Since 2022, ITP Aero undergoes EcoVadis assessment to externally validate ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) and identify areas for improvement. After obtaining the Gold Medal in 2023, this year ITP Aero has achieved an overall score of 91 out of 100, standing out with 100 out of 100 in Environment, 90 out of 100 in Labour and Human Rights, 80 out of 100 in Sustainable Procurement and 90 out of 100 in Ethics and Information Security.
This milestone coincides with a period of growth for ITP Aero as an independent company since Bain Capital assumed ownership in September 2022. The Platinum Medal is aligned with ITP Aero’s strategic goal of becoming a leading ESG company and its commitment to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2050. In addition, the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative has recently endorsed ITP Aero’s short-term targets.
Belén González, head of ESG at ITP Aero, commented: ‘It is a great honour to be in the top 1% of companies rated by EcoVadis. This recognition reflects the strong sustainability management systems and processes we have developed and consolidates our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future in aviation.’
EcoVadis bases its assessments on international standards such as the UN Global Compact Principles, International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, GRI norms and the ISO 26000 standard, providing an evidence-based analysis and roadmap for continuous improvement.
