SATLANTIS takes Basque space innovation to the National SME of the Year Awards

SATLANTIS, the space technology company based at the Leioa Campus of the Basque Country Technology Park, has been named Bizkaia SME of the Year 2026, an award that recognises its capacity for innovation, growth and international reach.

Specialising in the development of high-precision optical cameras for Earth observation satellites, the company has established itself as a technological leader within the space sector. Its solutions are deployed in a range of international missions and are used by customers across Europe, North America and Asia.

The judging panel particularly highlighted SATLANTIS’s commitment to research and development, as well as its ability to transform proprietary expertise and technology into competitive products for the global market.

Thanks to this award, the company will represent Bizkaia in the next edition of the National SME of the Year Award, where it will compete alongside businesses recognised in provinces across Spain. The winner will be announced in early 2027 at an event to be held in Madrid.

This latest distinction further strengthens SATLANTIS’s track record and reinforces the position of the space industry developed in Euskadi as an international benchmark for innovation and advanced technology.
