More than 150 professionals met on 22 May at the Hernani Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park to reflect on the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the evolution of management software in industrial SMEs.

The company presented the latest developments in its ERP and advanced solutions in data analytics and exploitation, e-commerce and production planning.

The Basque technology company Spyro brought together more than 150 professionals from the industrial and distribution sector in a new edition of its Spyro Congress, held in the Orona Fundazioa Auditorium of the Hernani Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park. Under the slogan ‘Technology advances, commitment remains, today and always’, the event served as a meeting point for companies, experts and collaborators to share experiences, strategic vision and specific solutions to tackle digital transformation.

The conference was opened by Koldo Peciña, Deputy for Economic Promotion and Strategic Projects of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, who stressed the importance of accompanying companies in their digitalisation process. Maialen Eguino, Managing Director of Spyro Software, then gave a presentation entitled ‘Commitment and innovation: the road to the future’, in which she explained the company’s product and business strategy.

Among the most relevant topics addressed during the congress were the current challenges in cybersecurity, the digital transformation in the industry, the impact of artificial intelligence in the company, and the adaptation of management software to the new Anti-Fraud Law and the Crea y Crece Law.

The event featured top-level speakers such as Tomás Iriondo, CEO of GAIA; Óscar Lage, head of cybersecurity at Tecnalia; Marcos Ubiria, legal expert at Seinale; and heads of innovation and development at Spyro. In addition, a round table on artificial intelligence moderated by the Spyro team was held, with the participation of Iker Pastor, Director of the Master’s Degree in Computing and Intelligent Systems at the University of Deusto, and Enrique León, R&D Director of Spyro Software, who offered an expert view on how to implement these technologies with meaning and value in SMEs.

Customer companies such as Rubí Automotive also participated, with Ricardo Romo, manager of the company, who shared his vision on the challenges of the automotive sector, as well as the digitisation projects they are carrying out with Spyro.

During the conference, the latest technological developments that Spyro is incorporating into its ecosystem of solutions were presented. These include new features and technological developments in its ERP, advanced analytical tools and data mining, integrated e-commerce solutions, production planning applications and use cases of artificial intelligence applied to operational improvement and decision making.

These innovations were presented by the product development team, who together with Ander Garmendia, commercial director of Spyro, showed how emerging technologies are being integrated into current solutions to respond to real business challenges.

The conference also included a speech by Javier Blanco, from Total Specific Solutions Spain, the business group to which Spyro belongs, who offered a vision of the group’s growth strategy, based on a clear focus: putting the customer at the centre. ‘We are unstoppable because we grow by listening and evolving together with our customers,’ said Blanco.

40 years of history and a special tribute

The Congress also had a commemorative character, as Spyro celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. For this, an emotional tribute was paid to Ricardo González, founder and manager of the company for 39 years, for his vision and leadership in the creation of a company that today serves more than 400 companies and thousands of users.

The Spyro 2025 Congress thus consolidated its role as a space of reference for sharing knowledge, strengthening alliances and continuing to boost the competitiveness of the industrial fabric.
