The Strategic Plan 2021 – 2024 counts with a vocation of contribution to the SDG aligning itself with the Agenda Euskadi Basque Country 2030

Contribution of the Basque Technological Parks to the Sustainable Development Goals

The 8 strategic lines of the Strategic Plan 2021 – 2024 directly impact upon 14 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

The SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), included in the “Prosperity” sphere are reached by practically all the strategic lines.

The lines “Smart and Sustainable infrastructure” and “Differential services” each impact upon the SDG 9.

The contribution of the Basque Technological Parks to the consecution of the Sustainable Development Goals is the following:

Through the promotion of the RIS3 niche of Healthy Diet, promoting innovation and research to improve the competitiveness of the food and agriculture sector
Supporting campuses that contribute to the development of rural areas of their surroundings

Strengthening the RIS3 ecosystem of Personalized Health
Offering differential environments and services that support the ecosystem of life

Stimulating scientific and technological vocations and the generation of talent

Promoting the empowerment and representativeness of women at the CTI and business environment
Deploying its own Equality and Conciliation Plan

Promoting sustainability measures

Promoting sustainability measures, oriented towards energetic self-sufficiency
Strengthening the RIS3 ecosystem of Cleaner energies, including the development of new specialized campuses in this field such as the PT of Ezkerraldea-Meatzaldea

Through the expansion of the campus of the RPTE and the support for the attraction of tractor projects, which will result in the creation of direct and induced employment
Supporting initiatives of Talent encouragement and backing entrepreneurship

Supporting technological, non-technological and advanced business management innovation
Supporting entrepreneurship, SMEs and start-ups in the scale-up process
Strengthening the RIS3 ecosystems of Smart manufacturing, Cleaner energies and Personalized Health
Highlighting the value of the technological opportunities to promote the information and knowledge society (for example, through 5G and cybersecurity)
Growing, among other lines, through the promotion of the country’s big projects

Contributing to the deployment of sustainable territorial strategies
Taking advantage of new types of unused lands to contribute to the regeneration of spaces and cities
Promoting sustainable and intermodal transport.
Stimulating the use of the Basque language

Developing circular economy initiatives

Promoting a competitive and sustainable low-carbon economy, promoting savings, energetic efficiency and the use of renewable energies in all of its campuses
Boosting sustainable construction and the production of eco-design and supporting biodiversity

Promoting the sustainable use of land ecosystems through the regulation of the usage of land
Protecting biodiversity in its projects

Promoting transparency, efficacy and opening as part of the Public Sector

Contributing to the global strategy of the internationalization of the Basque Country
Promoting interinstitutional coordination
