TECNALIA takes part in advanced robotics showcase at the European Parliament

Brussels showcases the future of robotics applied to industry with 15 AI-powered robots

The euROBIN project is driving a European infrastructure for sharing knowledge, data, software and experimental platforms

The European Parliament hosted, this morning, a showcase of innovative European robotic technology integrated into 15 robots equipped with advanced artificial intelligence solutions. The initiative, part of the European Network of Robotics Centres of Excellence (euROBIN), involves TECNALIA, which highlighted the technological capabilities of the Basque Country in advanced manufacturing and applied robotics.

The applied research and technological development centre TECNALIA, a leading organisation in the development and creation of new industrial capabilities for these robots, plays a key role in the project thanks to its expertise in collaborative robotics, autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing and applied artificial intelligence.

Among the pioneering capabilities of these robots is their ability to help mitigate labour shortages resulting from demographic ageing, while improving the safety and ergonomics of people in the workplace.

The event brought together representatives from the European Parliament and the European Commission, as well as members of industrial companies, to discuss how to strengthen Europe’s leadership in robotics and artificial intelligence. They also explored ways to accelerate the impact of these technologies on industrial competitiveness and social well-being.

euROBIN

euROBIN, the European Network of Robotics Centres of Excellence funded by Horizon Europe, aims to build an environment in which AI-based robots can be developed, validated and deployed. The initiative brings together research centres, universities and industrial companies to facilitate the transfer of capabilities between robots, tasks and environments, thereby creating an infrastructure for sharing knowledge, data, software and experimental platforms.

The project, in which TECNALIA participates alongside 31 other partners from 14 European countries, represents one of the largest collaborative efforts in robotics and artificial intelligence. euROBIN will facilitate the transition of innovation to the market, technological development and knowledge transfer between robots.
