The Basque Country Technology Park has successfully closed the 7th edition of ‘Science and Technology for Women’, a programme that, year after year, promotes scientific and technological vocations among young students.

Under the slogan ‘The universe is waiting for you to change it’, more than 600 students from 1st to 4th year of ESO have taken part in this conference, which has once again proved to be a necessary initiative due to its ability to motivate young women to develop their professional future in the field of science and technology.

The programme, which took place between 25 and 29 November, offered an agenda full of activities. The students had the opportunity to get to know first-hand different professionals who shared their careers, experiences and advice in areas such as robotics, biomedical research and engineering. Another highlight was the visit to the exhibition ‘Women who changed the world’, an exhibition whose aim is to give visibility to Basque women from three different generations who are benchmarks in the field of technology. The exhibition was on display at the Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia and Leioa campuses, where the conference took place.

The ‘Science and Technology for Women’ programme is an initiative promoted by APTE (Association of Technology Parks of Spain) and will continue to be held in the near future in other technology parks in Spain, conveying the message that women are also called to lead in science and technology. All the information about the programme can be found on the APTE website https://www.apte.org/cienciatecnologia-en-femenino

At the Basque Country Technology Park we continue to work to support the new generations of young women who want to be part of the exciting world of science and technology.
