The Euskadi Technology Park Network (RPTE)
has started to draft its UNIVERSAL SUSTAINABILITY,

The RPTE has begun to draft its Sustainability, Mobility and Universal Accessibility Plans (#PSMAU) with its commitment to the Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS by their initials in Spain), Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and its own Strategic Plan as its yardstick.

These plans are designed to establish measures to encourage rational and sustainable use of the territory and resources while promoting universal mobility and accessibility to all the Parks’ spaces and services.

We want the Network to be more environmentally sustainable and we work to improve green areas, landscaping, sustainable buildings, energy savings, CO2 emissions, circular economy;

Can you help us?

We want to apply policies and strategies for sustainable mobility on the Internet, facilitating efficient and safe mobility, promoting the use of public-collective transport and betting on intermodality, generating a minimum environmental impact at all times;

Would you like to be a participant?

We want to ensure that on the Network the right of access of all people to the environments, products and services of the Parks is made effective, in line with the Basque Strategy for Universal Accessibility;

Do you want to participate to make it real?

The PSMAU is organised in three plans:

  • Sustainability Plan to improve the environment of the RPTE and the territory in which they are located. Work will also be done on citizens and workers’ health and safety and will contribute to achieving greater efficiency in the economy through the more rational use of space, energy, and natural resources.
  • Mobility Plan to incorporate sustainable mobility policies and strategies. Regular trips will be optimised, facilitating efficient and safe mobility, generating a minimum impact on the environment and landscape. Intermodality and the use of public and collective transport will be promoted, among other measures.
  • Universal Accessibility Plan to pursue the right of access of all people to the parks’ physical environments, as well as to their products and services of public access or use, as freely and autonomously as possible. The aim will be to reach each of the RPTE’s areas in a transversal, multidisciplinary and multisectoral way.

Do you want a change or do you want to be part of it?

The development of the PSMAU has opted for a modern and active participation model, raising awareness of the criteria and solutions proposed by the companies in the Parks, the people who work in them, city officials and institutions and stakeholder social actors, among others.

The main objective of this Plan is to align the Network of Technology Parks (RPTE) with at least nine of the 17 SDG. As a result, it will be possible to define an agenda of work for the next five years which will enable the identification of the key points in the areas of Sustainability, Mobility and Universal Accessibility which should be considered by the RPTE to position it as a responsible key player in the necessary response that Euskadi must provide to the challenges it faces in terms of sustainability. Challenges which will undoubtedly play a key role in the coordination of a more sustainable, accessible and resilient region.

This participatory phase has a preliminary PSMAU dissemination and information phase. It has different channels, mainly online, where the plans’ justification and objectives will be made known. The discussion and information gathering phase will then commence and send online surveys to all the interested actors. Later on, we will finish with returning and analysing all the testimonies collected.
