The Basque BioRegion will be present at BioSpain 2010 with a delegation led by the BioBasque Agency and comprising nearly 40 institutions including companies, representatives of the healthcare sector, scientific and technological agents, technology parks, incubators and public institutions.

Organised by the Spanish BioIndustry Association (ASEBIO) and the Agency for Development of the Navarre Government (SODENA), BioSpain 2010 will be held from the 29th of September to the 1st of October in Pamplona. This city will host this biennial event gathering a large group of experts in the domestic and international biotechnology sector.

As a matter of fact, the internationalisation of this trade fair is this edition’s most important innovation. Around 160 companies, 33% more than in the previous edition (BioSpain 2008), have confirmed their attendance in the exhibition area, and mainly come from Spain, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany and India. The Basque BioRegion will maintain contact with these delegations and with the offices in other countries such as the United Kingdom.

This event is divided into a trade exhibition, a partnering event, an investment forum, plenary sessions and conferences on different topics by international speakers, the Scientific Congress BIOTEC 2010 and a career forum.

The scientific congress, hosted by the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBIOT), Biotec 2010 includes issues related to environmental biotechnology, diagnostic technologies and nano-biotechnology, among others; areas of knowledge in which many companies and scientific-technological agents work on in the Basque BioRegion.

All of this makes BioSpain an interesting business and collaboration platform for the Basque BioRegion, in the areas of research, innovation and market, reflecting the constant growth this sector is experiencing in the Basque Country.
