433 Basque organisations reinforce their competences in innovation in 2024 with Innobasque’s ‘Training in Innovation’ programme
720 professionals have taken part in the training catalogue, which has been divided into three thematic blocks designed to meet the specific needs of different profiles.
72% of the participating organisations (more than 300) were companies, half of which were small, with between 11 and 50 employees.
Participating organisations have attended an average of 2 courses during the year, rating their experience with 8.5 out of 10 points.
The ‘Training in Innovation’ programme, designed by the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque, to boost the innovative capacity of companies and organisations in the Basque Country, has seen the participation of 433 organisations and 720 unique professionals over the 46 courses given in 2024. Each participating organisation attended an average of 2 courses (2.18) during 2024.
In terms of coverage, the programme has been present in all three territories, with participation distributed between Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Araba and complemented with online training, thus underlining Innobasque’s commitment to strengthening the management of innovation and R&D in the business and organisational fabric of the Basque Country.
The 2024 training catalogue consisted of three thematic blocks designed to meet the specific needs of different profiles: SMEs, organisations interested in the internationalisation of their R&D&I and Innobasque’s partner organisations. In total, 21 courses were given for SMEs, 7 focused on European grants and 18 exclusively for partners.
The training addressed, among others, areas of interest such as digitalisation, business models, market analysis, the opportunities of the Horizon Europe programme, or emerging trends such as generative artificial intelligence, offering a practical and useful vision of innovation linked to the needs and challenges of companies.
In addition to providing practical tools to tackle innovation processes, Innobasque’s training offer connects participating organisations with the Basque innovation ecosystem, fostering synergies and opportunities for collaboration.
Profile of participants
The profile of the participating organisations reflects the diversity and dynamism of the Basque business fabric. 72% of the organisations attending were companies, of which 50% were small companies with between 11 and 50 employees. Among the participating companies, those belonging to industrial sectors, related services, wholesale trade and activities linked to research and development (R&D) stood out.
For their part, the professionals attending were general management profiles, responsible for operational areas or linked to key processes within their organisations, which favours the direct impact of the training on strategic decision-making.
With an average score of 8.5 out of 10 in the evaluations, the courses were highly valued for their practical nature and for being aligned with the real challenges of the companies.

In the middle of this month, the Basque Innovation Agency will announce the catalogue of courses for the first half of next year, which will cover the most relevant topics in the field of innovation.
