AR Racking installs the 34m high rack for Renova (in Portugal)

Bizkaia, News

AR Racking manufactures, designs and installs a 100% galvanised solution for the well-known Portuguese paper products company Renova.

The self-supporting silo reaches a height of 34 metres and has a capacity for 27,360 europallets.

Renova, the European FMCG brand in the tissue paper products segment, automates its intralogistics operations with the inauguration of a new self-supporting warehouse located in Torres Novas (Portugal), where its headquarters are also located. The manufacture, design, calculation and installation of the structure has been carried out by the storage solutions specialistAR Racking, which has also managed the project.

“The internationalisation of our activity and the presence of the Renova brand in foreign markets oblige us to speed up and improve the competitiveness of our operations: faster and more precise in order to achieve greater volume,” says Luis Saramago, Marketing Director of Renova. “We were aware of AR Racking’s experience in projects of this size; they offered us service, quality and a guarantee of compliance with the execution deadline, so we closed the project with them“, added the Portuguese company.

The self-supporting structure, whose special feature is that the racking supports the entire building, is completely galvanised, and therefore extremely resistant to corrosion and extreme environmental conditions. The silo covers an area of 6,532m2 and rises 34 metres above ground level. The rack has a storage capacity for 27,360 europallets, which will be loaded and unloaded by double-deep stacker cranes.

AR Racking provides a high level of quality in its industrial racks and structures, which are the result of constant engineering development activity and knowledge of the raw materials with which it works. In this case, the structure has been designed with a seismic-resistant calculation, for greater safety for the warehouse and the client.

With regard to the solution installed for Renova, “the automation and the use of space in height will allow Renova a much more agile operational flow, with capacity for more products and with greater control of the references”, explains Bernardo Sopeña, International Key Account Manager of AR Racking. The self-supporting racks provide a high load density, which means significant savings due to the lower investment.
