Carmen Pinto has been elected president of AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, the association of manufacturers of machine tools, components, tools and accessories, for a two-year term, during the association’s annual general meeting
Carmen Pinto, aged 52 and originally from Burgos, is an industrial engineer specialising in mechanics, having graduated from the University of Valladolid, and holds an Executive MBA. She is also deeply involved in the sector and at an institutional level. She is a member of the board of directors of FEMEBUR and sits on the executive committee of the Burgos Chamber of Commerce. Furthermore, she is a member of the social council of the University of Burgos, standing out for her commitment to training and talent development as key drivers of business competitiveness.
In parallel with the AFM general assembly, meetings were held for the associations that make up the AFM Cluster, specifically ADDIMAT, AFMEC, AIMHE, ESKUIN, FEX, STECH and UPTEK. Elections took place in four of these associations: at AFMEC, Fernando Gastaldo was re-elected as president; at STECH, Alfonso Ganzabal, of SISTEPLANT, was re-elected; at UPTEK, David Oyarzun was also re-elected as head of the association; and at AIMHE, Gerard Guitart was appointed as the new president, taking over from José Ignacio Ortiz de Urbina.
