Employment grows by 6% at Spanish science and technology parks in 2011, reaching a figure of 154,187 jobs

In 2011 Spain’s science and technology parks saw growth of over 8% in the number of resident companies, an 8% increase in turnover and 6% more employment. APTE and CRUE sign an agreement to encourage joint activities between the universities and the companies based at the parks. The Association has held elections at its General Assembly to appoint the new Executive Committee, which will include the President of the Basque Technology Park Network Francisco Berjón and the Director of Bizkaia Technology Park Txaber Ouro.

The second General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE) to be held in 2012 took place this morning at the Leganés Tecnológico Science Park (Carlos III University, Madrid). The event was attended by approximately 50 representatives from science and technology parks and brought with it some important new developments for the Association, including the appointment of the new Executive Committee, the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Confederation of Spanish University Chancellors (CRUE) and the presentation of the science and technology parks’ annual statistics.
