Awaken your entrepreneurial spirit with IkasEkiten

The ‘IKASEKITEN – Learning to be an entrepreneur’ programme is an initiative led by the Basque Country Technology Park in collaboration with Vital Fundazioa, which aims to promote entrepreneurship among 4th year secondary school students in Álava.

This programme aims to give young people the opportunity to spend a morning attending themed workshops focused on the skills needed to become an entrepreneur. They also have the chance to meet promoters of initiatives based at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus, with whom they can share experiences, concerns and inspiration around entrepreneurship.

It is essential to promote a proactive and courageous attitude among young people, enabling progress towards a cultural change that is favourable to entrepreneurship.

IkasEkiten 2024: An edition full of talent, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit

he 2024 edition of IkasEkiten, promoted by BIC Araba and the Basque Country Technology Park, has come to an end, leaving behind a unique experience for more than 200 4th year secondary school students from all over Araba. This programme, which is supported by Vital Fundazioa, has once again demonstrated the enormous potential of our young people to become the leaders and entrepreneurs of the future.

Over the course of five days, students from different educational centres in the province of Araba delved into the world of entrepreneurship through workshops, activities and talks by entrepreneurs. Each session was an opportunity to develop key skills such as creativity, leadership and innovation.

  • First day: Murgia BHI and Urkide School.
  • Second day: Ekialde and Corazonistas.
  • Third day: Egibide, Hogar San José and Samaniego.
  • Fourth day: Nazareth, Veracruz and Lakua BHU.
  • Fifth day: Laudio Ikastola and San Bixente Ikastola.

A highlight of IkasEkiten 2024 was the participation of local entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and lessons learned. Talks such as those given by Cristina García from EProcess Med and Ibon Salbidegoitia from Meteo for Energy offered young people a realistic and motivating view of entrepreneurship, showing that innovative ideas can become transformative projects.

BIC Araba and the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park were once again the setting for young people to experience first-hand what it means to be an entrepreneur. Students were able to connect with an ecosystem designed to foster creativity and professional growth.

We would like to thank the educational centres, students, teachers and entrepreneurs for their involvement in this edition. In addition, a special thanks to Vital Fundazioa for its commitment to the future of the youth of Álava.
