Innovation Spaces: A Unique Opportunity to Discover Innovation from the Insid
CFAA, CIC energiGUNE, BCBL and CIC biomaGUNE will offer guided tours to bring some of the Basque Country’s most advanced scientific and technological infrastructures closer to society.
The tours form part of Innovation Spaces, an initiative promoted by the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE).
What happens inside a research centre? What are the laboratories where new technologies are developed really like? What equipment do researchers use to advance fields such as energy, aeronautical manufacturing, brain research and biomedicine?
On 18 and 19 November, four centres located within the Basque Country Technology Park will open their doors through guided tours, offering visitors the opportunity to discover their facilities, equipment and some of the projects currently being developed.
These activities form part of Innovation Spaces, an initiative promoted by the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) to bring leading scientific and technological infrastructures closer to the scientific community, businesses, public administrations and society as a whole.
Which centres can be visited?
Advanced Aeronautical Manufacturing Centre (CFAA)
18 November | 10:00–12:00
The tour will take visitors through the CFAA’s production plant and laboratories, providing insight into how advanced manufacturing technologies are developed and validated for application in the aeronautical industry.

Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL)
18 November | 12:00–13:30
BCBL will demonstrate how it studies the brain and language using advanced neuroimaging technologies. The visit will offer an opportunity to learn about research related to bilingualism, learning and health.

18 and 19 November | 13:30–14:30
CIC energiGUNE will showcase its laboratories and some of its state-of-the-art infrastructures dedicated to researching new materials and technologies for energy storage and conversion.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the Molecular and Functional Imaging Platform, a European reference facility in preclinical imaging that brings together advanced technologies applied to biomedical research and the development of new nanomaterial applications.
