Poland turns its attention to the Basque Country Technology Park’s innovation ecosystem
The Basque Country Technology Park has welcomed a delegation from Poland interested in gaining first-hand insight into the Basque model of innovation, technological development and knowledge transfer.
The mission, comprising representatives of the Government of Lower Silesia and the Łukasiewicz Institute, Poland’s leading public applied research network, included a visit to the Zamudio/Derio Campus. The delegation sought to gain a deeper understanding of how the Park operates as a leading environment bringing together innovative companies, technology centres and R&D organisations.
The meeting forms part of an institutional programme designed to explore the good practices that have contributed to the development of the Basque innovation ecosystem, as well as the policies and support instruments that promote collaboration between companies, technology centres, research organisations and public authorities.
During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the development of the Basque Country Technology Park, its growth model and its contribution to strengthening business competitiveness and generating economic activity based on knowledge and innovation.
The mission also aims to foster new opportunities for collaboration between Basque organisations and representatives of Lower Silesia, one of Poland’s most dynamic regions and home to Wroclaw, one of the country’s leading hubs for Basque companies.
In addition to visiting the Basque Country Technology Park, the delegation’s programme includes meetings with some of the key stakeholders in the Basque innovation ecosystem, including SPRI, Tecnalia, Innobasque and BIC Bizkaia. The purpose of these meetings is to identify potential areas of cooperation in applied research, technological development and knowledge transfer.
