The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has presented the Digitalisation of the Public Authorities Plan and the National Digital Skills Plan

The three plans are to receive a public investment of more than 11,000 million Euros for the next three years. The objective is to promote the reforms and transformations necessary to advance in the process to digitalise Spain, and move towards a more resilient and inclusive economy. The event was also attended by the Third Vice-President of the Government and Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño.

With the approval of these three plans, included in the framework of the key strategic lines of the Digital Spain Agenda 2025 and of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Government continues to move forward in its commitment to digitalisation as one of the levers of change for the recovery of the economy, the productive network and employment, and for the digital transformation of the Public Administration.

In December 2020, three other plans were presented to boost the deployment of the Digital Spain Agenda 2025. The Connectivity Plan, with a public investment of more than 2300 million Euros up until 2025; the 5G Launch Strategy, to which 2000 million of public funds has been allocated until 2025, and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy with a public investment of a further 600 million Euros during the 2021-2023 period.

These initiatives, together with the approved plans, anticipate a mobilisation of over 15,400 million Euros in public investment, which will be financed by European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility. A third of the Recovery Plan budget has been allocated to boosting digitalisation, one of the four transversal lines of the Plan alongside ecological transition, gender equality and territorial and social cohesion.
