ZIV Welcomes the Deputy for Economic Promotion at its Zamudio/Derio Campus Headquarters

The Deputy for Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Ainara Basurko, along with the Director of Entrepreneurship, Talent, and Business Competitiveness, Joseba Mariezkurrena, visited ZIV’s facilities to gain firsthand insight into the company’s current operations and future challenges.

This visit is part of an initiative by the department to better understand the real needs of local businesses and explore new ways the Provincial Council can support their development and competitiveness.

With over 30 years of experience, ZIV is an international company headquartered in Zamudio/Derio Campus, with additional plants in Madrid, Barcelona, the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. ZIV supplies critical and strategic equipment and systems to major electric utilities, EPCs, and renewable energy developers, ensuring the reliability of electric grids.

The Basque company is a leader in developing smart grid solutions, specializing in protection, control, communications, and measurement electronics. Through its technological mix, ZIV designs smart devices that support the protection and automation of high-, medium-, and low-voltage grid management. These solutions are research and development-driven, with a focus on reliability, cybersecurity, and sustainability within the electric system.

Currently, ZIV employs 440 people, with 238 based at the Basque Country Technology Park, where ZIV’s headquarters is located.

This visit highlights the commitment of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to the growth of local companies—from startups to large corporations—aiming to strengthen their competitiveness in a global market.
