AR Racking implements 12,000 Pallet Positions for Icestar in Chile

Implementation of storage solutions for 12,000 positions with expansion plans to reach an additional 40,000 positions in Chile by the end of 2024 and 2025

Leading warehousing solutions provider AR Racking has completed a major project for Icestar, a leading storage and logistics company for frozen and refrigerated products in Chile. This action marks a significant milestone in the expansion and continuous improvement of Icestar’s logistics capabilities, supporting its ambitious plan for growth and operational excellence.

Icestar has experienced exceptional growth in recent years, consolidating its position as a major player in the warehousing and logistics sector in Chile and the Latin American region. With the acquisition of several strategic facilities and a proactive approach to both organic and inorganic expansion, Icestar has positioned itself today as a benchmark in the industry.

The project with AR Racking focused on the implementation of racking systems for Icestar’s new storage chambers, with the aim of maximising storage capacity, increasing capacity to more than 35,000 positions with excellent selectivity of the stored cargo. This will make us the largest and most efficient storage and distribution centre in Santiago, also considering its privileged location to distribute frozen and refrigerated products, from different industries and categories: supermarkets, food service, proteins, processed foods, fruits, vegetables, fish, etc. Icestar chose AR Racking for its prestige, quality and commitment throughout the whole process. “We were not wrong to trust AR Racking”, said Morales. “They were right on schedule and showed exceptional flexibility during the execution of the project and its start-up”.

On the other hand, Icestar has started the construction of its new storage and distribution centre in Coronel, as part of its commitment to be closer to its customers and deliver point-to-point solutions, expanding its presence in Chile. With an initial storage capacity of 16,000 frozen pallets and a second phase planned for 2025 to reach 40,000 positions, AR Racking will again work with the company with the aim of this facility to further strengthen Icestar’s logistics capacity and its position as a market leader.
