Behind Every STEAM Vocation, There Is Someone Who Inspires
Inspira STEAM is looking for new mentors to support students and foster scientific and technological vocations in more than 60 schools across Euskadi during the 2026–2027 academic year
A conversation, a shared experience or the story of a professional journey can shape a young person’s future. With this purpose in mind, Inspira STEAM was created ten years ago to bring professionals from the fields of science and technology into classrooms, inspiring new generations and showing them, through genuine and relatable experiences, everything they can achieve.
As an organisation committed to the Inspira STEAM Pledge, the Basque Country Technology Park is joining the campaign to recruit mentors for the coming academic year. The initiative already has more than 60 schools registered for the 2026–2027 academic year and needs to expand its network of professionals to meet growing demand.
The programme invites both women and men working in STEAM disciplines — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics — to take part and share their experience with students of different ages. It is about far more than simply talking about a profession; it is about becoming an approachable role model who can spark curiosity, challenge stereotypes and open up new possibilities for the future.
Those who have taken part in previous editions consistently highlight the impact of the experience, not only on the students but also on the mentors themselves. Learning about the concerns and aspirations of younger generations, sharing knowledge and contributing to a more innovative and diverse society make participation in the programme particularly rewarding.
Over the past decade, Inspira STEAM has demonstrated that role models are essential in encouraging scientific and technological vocations. For this reason, the involvement of committed organisations and professionals willing to dedicate part of their time is crucial to strengthening the talent pipeline that Euskadi will need in the years ahead.
Because behind every future engineer, scientist or technology developer there may be a conversation capable of changing the way they see the world. And that conversation could begin with you.
