BIOLAN   unveils   BIO   5000,   the   next   generation   of automated biosensors for food monitoring

BIO 5000 is a fully automated, connected and high-precision analytical device that enables the autonomous determination of key parameters in food products.

The Basque company BIOLAN, a leader in the development of biosensors for food quality and safety control, has just launched BIO 5000, a new generation of biosensors designed to meet the food industry’s growing needs for efficiency, digitalisation and traceability.

BIO 5000 is designed to determine the concentration of key parameters in food products completely autonomously, saving time and simplifying monitoring operations within production processes. The BIO 5000 system is being launched for the quantification of histamine, one of the main quality indicators in fish and seafood products. However, the device is engineered to measure multiple parameters related to food safety and food quality.

The BIO 5000 system is the result of applying BIOLAN’s proprietary enzyme-based biosensor technology, developed entirely in-house and instrumental in establishing the company as a leader in the international market. In addition, one of the device’s key innovations is its operational autonomy, enabling up to 19 analyses to be performed without user intervention, thereby saving time at every stage of the process and increasing efficiency in laboratories and quality control operations. It also features a robust design and advanced, user-friendly operation through a dedicated app connected to BIOLAN’s digital platform.
