This coming Friday 11 February marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, declared by the UN in 2015. From 1 to 15 February, multiple activities will take place aimed at recognising and raising the profile of the work of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas, in turn creating female references that contribute to girls choosing these areas as professional careers.
Itelazpi wants to show its firm support for this initiative, which it has been supporting in recent years with an audiovisual competition. On this occasion, Itelazpi is taking part by broadcasting a video summary of its awareness-raising calendar. The calendar, through illustrations, makes Basque women pioneers in the science and technology sector visible. The actions will be completed with a promotional image that will be displayed on Itelazpi staff e-mail signatures until 15 February. This action will enable the company to act as a driving force among its stakeholders, as established in its Equality Policy.
This initiative is part of the #EmakumeaTeknologian programme, through which Itelazpi gives visibility to women who work in the fields of science and technology, with special attention to the telecommunications and related sectors, where Itelazpi carries out its activity.
