The First Padel Open of Alava Technology Park – A Complete Success

Padeleku, last Saturday, May 19th, was the setting for the First Padel Open of Alava Technology Park with 53 teams participating. All the competitors received a Technology Park welcome pack which contained among other things an exclusive Lotto Open t-shirt (polo shirts for the gentlemen).

WE WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN THE 2ND PADEL OPEN OF ALAVA TECHNOLOGY PARK.!!!

The tournament began at 09.10 with a knock-out phase with games of 20 minutes where the teams in the 9 groups qualified. (7 of which were men’s and 2 were women’s).

Then in the afternoon, the semi-finals and finals were played according to the group winners, culminating in the 1st Category finals at 18.30, in which Fernando Miñón and Jordi Monreal imposed themselves to beat Roberto Fernández and Pedro Pérez in the men’s final. In the women’s final, Zuriñe García and Raquel Mielgo were victorious in a closely contested final against Nahia Mendigueren and Aitziber Alvarez who both had a great tournament.

In the 2nd Category women’s final, Virginia Diaz de Corcuera and Anabel Blázquez overcame Nerea Gil and Ana Rivera.

In the meantime, the rest of the players enjoyed the privilege of a coaching session given by the great Jon Garcia-Ariño, a unique opportunity to perfect their game.

4th Category Mens: Winners: Javier Soto and Alejandro Lobera

Runners-up: Aitor Órtiz de Arri and Mikel Iriarte

5th Category Mens: Winners: Antonio Castro and Juan Antonio Ramos

Runners-up: Roberto Fernández and Sergio Álvarez

6th Category Mens: Winners: Raúl Martín and Gonzalo Berganzo

Runners-up: Jakobe Cordón and David Palma

7th Category Mens: Winners: José Luis Leorza and José Palomo

Runners-up: Iñigo Miranda and Pablo Moreno

8th Category Mens: Winners: Gustavo García and Emilio Marmolejo

Runners-up: David Montero and Andrés Arbocco

To end the day, there was a draw of more than 20 prizes by all the competitors with the help of the majority of them, followed by a wonderful lunch organised by the superb Barleku team.
