UARX Space and LANZO Batteries will launch the first high-performance battery into space via the OSSIE platform

The new Spin-Off of CIDETEC, LANZO Batteries, will validate high energy density modular batteries on board the Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV) OSSIE, developed by UARX Space.
LANZO Batteries relies on the efficiency and quality that UARX brings to each project to validate its modular batteries. These batteries will be integrated into UARX Space’s OSSIE OTV satellite platform, a state-of-the-art testbed designed to host and test various space experiments. This makes it the ideal environment to evaluate the effectiveness of high energy density modular batteries.
‘We are delighted to partner with LANZO, offering not only our advanced OTV platform for satellite deployment, but also the opportunity to provide an on-orbit validation service for high-performance products such as LANZO’s batteries, ensuring they meet rigorous space certification requirements,’ said Federico Perazzo, Director of Business Development at UARX Space, ’This collaboration highlights our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions for the space sector.’
Jesús Marcos, CEO of LANZO Batteries, highlighted the importance of the mission: ‘This launch will validate LANZO’s batteries in orbit, ensuring their reliability and performance for future space missions. OSSIE OTV will carry our LANZOBAT experiment with a lithium-ion cell-based S8 battery.
This partnership between UARX Space and LANZO reflects a shared commitment to advancing aerospace technology. UARX Space’s expertise in satellite launches and focus on delivering high quality products continues to set a high standard in the industry, paving the way for the future of space exploration and satellite technology.
