Basque Government, 16/05/2012
Eighty Basque SMEs will receive environmental and energy efficiency counselling in the framework of a collaboration agreement between the Basque Energy Board (EVE) and SPRI (the Society for Competitive Transformation). The Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism aims to improve these companies’ competitiveness and sustainability through this project, thanks to the European Commission’s co-funding of the Susteen Project (Sustainable SMEs by means of Enterprise Europe Network).
As part of its Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP), the European Commission wishes to improve the environmental performance of SMEs in the region, also enabling them to increase their competitiveness and sustainability.
The two public companies belonging to the Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism, SPRI and EVE, have also signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen their links as part of this project, as SPRI considers EVE’s collaboration necessary for activities such as providing information on services and energy efficiency subsidies and on the suppliers of these services, within its mission to support Basque business.
The two companies will also collaborate towards organising a conference and three workshops, and EVE will offer counselling for the creation of a self-diagnosis questionnaire to be given to the SMEs benefitting from the scheme, in addition to its specialist technical counselling on energy efficiency.
