The Basque logistics sector strengthens its positioning at the SIL in Barcelona
The Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster has showcased the capabilities of the Basque logistics ecosystem at one of the sector’s leading international gatherings.
The Cluster presented DS4Moveus, the Basque Country’s first mobility and logistics data space, as a strategic commitment to digitalisation and intelligent data management.
The Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster has successfully concluded its participation in the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL), held last week in Barcelona, one of the foremost meeting points for professionals in logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain management. From a shared stand with its partner Igarle, both organisations represented the capabilities and strengths of the Basque logistics ecosystem, presented their solutions, services and innovation advances, and explored new opportunities for collaboration and business development.
Over the three days of the fair, the delegation maintained an intensive schedule of meetings with organisations, clients and partners, consolidating relationships and exploring new opportunities in both domestic and international markets. Active participation in the event enabled the sharing of experiences, first-hand insight into the main trends transforming the sector, enhanced visibility of Basque organisations’ capabilities, and further positioning of the Basque Country as a leading logistics hub.
“SIL continues to be a benchmark space for knowledge exchange, the generation of high-value connections and the identification of new growth opportunities. Our participation has allowed us to strengthen our visibility in the market and to deepen our relationships with organisations and partners,” said Fernando Zubillaga, Manager of the Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster.
Innovation portfolio
In this year’s edition, the Cluster also presented its portfolio of innovation projects. By way of example, DS4Moveus is the Basque Country’s first mobility and logistics data space, a key platform for fostering collaboration among the different stakeholders in the supply chain. This initiative enables the secure, interoperable and reliable sharing of information, supporting more efficient decision-making, greater operational visibility and the development of new data-driven services. Meanwhile, the Ontzhi II project explores technologies for hydrogen storage and transport. In 2025, the Cluster participated in the consortia of 28 innovation projects, both at regional and European level.
The Cluster’s stand at SIL highlighted the importance of innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and operational efficiency as strategic pillars for the future of logistics—areas in which it maintains a strong commitment through projects, collaborative initiatives and as part of its strategic plan.
